For those of you on my f-list who were jabbering about Merlin several months ago, I finally started watching it. It's being shown by ABC, I think? Whichever station has the peacock-tail logo. They showed the first two episodes Sunday night, the pilot and the one about jousting with snakes on the one knight's shield. I went into some suspension-of-disbelief issues at the beginning (that's an awfully modern-looking palace for the Middle Ages; some definitely non-medieval dresses on the ladies; Guinevere is Morgana's maid, wtf?!) but eventually made them take up residence in the back of my head. It's TV, after all.

So far I like it. Don't love it yet, but I'll keep watching. I think my favorite parts so far are when Merlin argues with the dragon about his destiny in the first episode ("There must be some other Arthur, because this one's a moron!") and after the jousing tournament when Morgana gets into a spat with Arthur because he can't admit that a girl helped to save him.

I'll think about it. Aside from personal preferences, are there any practical benefits to Dreamwidth over LJ?
