oh, those crazy Decemberists

amelia_petkovaI'd heard about it for a while, but this morning was the first time I found "The Rake's Song" by the Decemberists on YouTube. I automatically opened the sidebar and started reading the lyrics ahead of the music. "No more a rake and no more a bachelor / I was wedded and it whetted my thirst..." okay... OH MY GOD!!! (Seriously, you have to hear/read this for yourself.)
Given how many people (including myself) often don't listen closely to the lyrics upon the first listening of a song, I now really want to add the Decemberists to the ipod playlist for the speakers at work. (Soften them up with "The Crane Wife," soften them up with "Eli the Barrow Boy," then lead them unsuspecting into "Shankill Butchers."
