Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows
Dec. 28th, 2011 12:32 pmLast night my family and I went to see the new Sherlock Holmes movie. Overall I had a lot of fun, although the constant shifting between frozen, slowed, and sped-up camera action during fight scenes annoyed me. Other things:
--I liked Simka
--Stephen Fry as Mycroft was hilarious. I especially liked his little curls during the peace summit.
--Holmes and Watson waltzing!
--Normally I don't care much for Jude Law. However, I do like his performances as Watson
--Throughout the whole thing I kept thinking that I recognized the actor playing Moriarty. I finally had a chance to check imdb and realized that he plays Lane Pryce on Mad Men.
--Mary is great! I do feel bad for her, being attacked on her honeymoon and then shoved out of a train like that.
--The make-up for Holmes's drag disguise made me think of a disturbing cross between the Joker from The Dark Knight and Dr. Frank'n'Furter from Rocky Horror Picture Show
--I could have lived without some of the "meat hook" scene.
