I checked out some recipes for mulled apple cider but they were all more complicated than I needed. I wanted to make just enough for myself to drink, not for a party. I ended up using
--2 cups cider
--one cinnamon stick
--enough whole cloves to fill half of a tea ball (about 1 teaspoon?)
I put them all in a saucepan, heated the liquid until it almost boiled, and then simmered for about 10 minutes. The end result turned out a bit silty but it tasted great. A bit of the cider evaporated while I was heating it but not a lot.
(Side note: I love farmer's markets. Last week I was at a spice stand and bought a bag of whole cloves that was probably a few ounces for just 90 cents! Among other items, the same stand also sells very cheap, very good, loose-leaf jasmine tea.)
