Korra reactions, episodes 1x05--1x07
Episode 5
--I was cringing through a lot of this episode. I’d rather have adventures than love triangles and I hate seeing characters get their feelings hurt because of it. That being said, I love that Korra thinks asking Tenzin’s kids for advice is a good idea. I also adore Jinora and her taste in books. (After the part where the heroine jumps into the volcano, I decided that Jinora would be the type to watch “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” over and over again.)
--Bolin trying to be romantic reminds me of Sokka
--the lemur feeder!
--Even though Mako and Bolin are dirt-poor, they have a pretty sweet apartment
--Korra and Bolin with the burping contest makes me think of Shrek and Fiona. Just stay BFFs, please.
--I get the feeling Mako has dragged Bolin home the morning after a bender before. (No “bender” puns intended.)
--Flameo!!! Now all we need is for somebody to be called “Hotman”.
--Even though I wasn’t crazy about this episode, I liked seeing Korra make nice with Asami. I want Korra to have a girl friend her own age and for them to go zooming around the city on Asami’s bike. (This raises the possibility of them breaking the speed limit and being ticketed/arrested by Lin.)
Episode 6
--the narrator/match announcer who keeps announcing even when an Equalist terrorist breaks into his “office” may be my favorite character
--they made a reference to the cabbage merchant!
--still think Pabu is the most adorable
--yay Korra and Lin teaming up!
--I love Tenzin’s casual revelation that Lin tried to arrest Pema in the past
--I think that Korra is the universe’s way of giving Tenzin practice having a teenage daughter before his own kids are that old. If he and Korra can survive each other, he ought to be ready for his and Pema’s children when they get older
Episode 7
--re burying Cabbage Corp: Man, that guy and his family will never catch a break!
--I want Asami to have a double identity as a racecar driver
--Korra, Tenzin, and Lin discussing conspiracies on a rooftop at night with spotlights made me half-expect to see the Bat signal in the sky
--“It’s right underneath the Sato mansion.” To the Batcave!
--Lin’s retractable shoes!
--I’m somewhat skeptical about how often people get electrocuted on this show with no lasting damage.
--I never would have thought that Lin would decide to work outside the law but she is Toph’s daughter, after all.
ETA: I want a filler episode with domestic hijinks now that the rest of the Fire Ferrets (and presumably, Asami) will be living at the Air Temple.
