dolls

I'm getting ready to move back into my parents' house (again), which has caused some cleaning out of things already in my bedroom there. The main feature this evening was trying to get rid of some old Barbies and their outfits. Some of these dolls are from my mother's childhood and came with stories about their characters. One of them was the Thousand and One Nights. This is an almost exact quote about the King:

"...but he didn't like girls because a girl had been mean to him once."

Yes, that's what it says. I couldn't stop laughing!

Later, while my mother was trying to pull a pair of underpants off of one of the dolls when it turned out the underwear wouldn't fit:

Mom: It's so hard to move this [the underwear].
Me: Well you wouldn't want it to be easy for Barbie to take her underwear off, would you?
Mom: ...
