We are reading Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi in one of my English classes. Our first research paper is coming up and I am asking the teacher to let me write about literature from a child's point of view (novel, memoir, diary, graphic novel) during a war or other dramatic historical period. So far I've thought of The Devil's Arithmetic by Jane Yolen and The Diary of Anne Frank. Can you think of any other books that would be useful? I'd like to use several different countries and time periods if possible. The paper is due October 10, so there isn't much time for Inter-Library Loan, but my school's library has a good selection of children's books. Thanks!
