Hannibal 2x02

I finally decided to give Hannibal a try this season and it's going well, except for the one or two times each episode that I have to look away from the screen. But something happened this episode that was AWESOME.


YOU SCREWED UP, HANNIBAL, AND IT WAS GLORIOUS! BEDELIA DITCHED YOU!

The scenes with her were so great. She was clearly terrified when she told him that she would no longer be his therapist and I was worried that she would chicken out, but no, she did it!

Hannibal: Are you giving me a referral.
Bedelia: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, NO.

Hannibal pushed Bedelia too far and everything she did during this episode was a giant response of, "Fuck you." She even told Will that she believes him, even though I still think she doesn't know everything Hannibal did. I was worried she would be killed immediately but she took off! Hannibal comes to her house in his plastic murder outfit but she's already packed up and gone. Damn, that woman doesn't waste time when she decides to do something. I know there's a good chance she'll still get killed by the end of the season, but I loved cheering for her this episode.

\o/ Bedelia has enthralled me from her first appearance, and although I'm disappointed she's probably off in Not Appearing on This Screen land for at least a few episodes, this episode yesssss. Her and Will through the bars-- I felt like one of Hannibal's symphonies ought to play, all the strings were pulled so tight and ready to be sawed across. And she may be terrified of him and running far, far away, but she still left him some perfume as a memento because she understands Hannibal's association of knowledge and possession and smell, and his need to consume trophies!

The perfume she left for him really interested me. I hadn't expected that and it's definitely something she left out on purpose, since it was sitting on top of the already-covered furniture.
