Today I finally had time to sit down and watch the Korra season finale. At the time I wrote this post, I hadn't read anybody else's reactions.
--Regarding Bumi II: I see they named him after the right person. Too bad we didn’t get to see more of him.
--Still not sure about Dante Basco as the voice of Iroh II. It’s entertaining to hear Zuko’s voice coming out of another person’s mouth but it’s distracting, too.
--I love that Asami is a girl who knows her mechanics. (And she definitely had to love it in order to learn it: how else would the pampered daughter of Hiroshi Sato know what a forklift is like?)
--That sound you hear is the grinding of my teeth over all the Mako/Korra shoved into the end of the episode.
--I thought the design of the airplanes was awesome.
--Regarding Tarrlok blowing up himself and Noatak: if there’s one thing I’ve learned from anime, it’s that a person’s never dead until you see the body.
--When Amon revealed his “scar” my first thought was that Tarrlok had been messing with Mako and Korra’s heads, and that his confession was part of one of Amon’s plans.
--Noatak and Tarrlok could compete with Zuko over who has the worst father.
--It’s great that Korra could airbend, although I’m raising my eyebrow a bit over how good she was at it immediately. Also unsure about the relatively easy return of her bending powers, but I was happy to see her finally meet Aang and the other Avatars.
