Once Upon a Time episode reactions

I haven't been invested enough in Once Upon a Time to watch it regularly but I caught last night's episode (the one focused around "Beauty and the Beast").
During the "fairy tale world" plotline I was really amused at how much the story was based on Disney's film: the name "Belle", her fiancee is named Gaston, the yellow ball gown and blue work dresses Belle wears.
The episode seemed so influenced by the Disney film that, when we kept seeing the chipped teacup and later on it turns out to be what Mr. Gold wanted to recover, I fully expected Belle to have been turned into the teacup when everybody was moved to Storybooke.
I wasn't completely impressed with the "Beauty and the Beast" plot but parts of it made me laugh: Rumplestiltskin rattling off the list of chores Belle is expected to do and ending it with "By the way, you have to help hang up the skins of children I've killed...JUST KIDDING!" Also when he turns Gaston into a rose and gives it to Belle. Those were two of my favorite parts in the whole episode.
I didn't care much about the David and Mary Margaret forbidden love (in Storybooke) thing to start with and by this point I'm even more bored with it. Please tell me this isn't going to drag through the whole season?
Still can't decide whether I do or don't care that Rumplestiltskin continues to have a "tragic woobie backstory". That being said, I remain firm in my opinion that Mr. Gold is an ass and I cheered when Emma arrested him for assault. Also when she offers to make good on their deal by offering him half of her delicious sandwich. I wish we'd gotten to see if she did indeed bring back an ice cream cone for him.
Regina, why do you have an underground lair where people (who are mentally ill or are presumed to be) are kept locked up with a nurse in an outdated uniform? This does not help me to think of you as more than a cackling, moustache-twirling villain!
