Minor bookgasm

The other day half of my group went on a walking tour of Valencia´s historical area district (aka Barrio del Carmen). Afterwards I was walking back to the metro stop and came across a bookstore. (Squee! The fact that I´m not fluent in Spanish isn´t at all a deterrent. Whee.) After picking out some postcards I went poking through the children´s section, thinking that would be a good place to begin reading.

Result: The purchase of the Spanish translation of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe . I won´t understand half of what is written, but at least I know the gist of what is happening, C.S. Lewis has a simple writing style, and it will be good practice for reading out loud. Part of me insists that I was just feeling the effects of new-book deprivation. (Notice that I am not denying it.) Shopping can be so entertaining.

I apologize if there are typos; I´m still adjusting to Spanish keyboards.

I´m sure that a conversation along these lines will take place when I get home:

Dad: Why did you buy a Narnia book in Spanish?
Me: Because it´s a book.
Dad: But you can´t possibly have read all of it.
Me: Doesn´t matter.
Dad: You still don´t make any sense.
Me: It´s a children´s fantasy book in Spanish . I had to buy it!
Dad: ...

I know what you mean about the keyboards. There are no quotations marks and the letters are in slightly different places...

I'm glad to hear that you've arrived and things are going well. Please please please tell me all about it!

At least I´m finally able to do the ñ and upside-down question mark without racking my brain. I have internet access off-and-on here, not like we do at school or home (I´ve been spoiled, having a computer all to myself in my dorm room). Since we finally got to school, I´m able to get on at least every few days.

Telling about it goes for you too, missy! What have you been up to? I´ll send you an e-mail with details in the near future. Hopefully I´ll also be able to send you some links to photos.
