what is it with me and the weird crossovers?

Previously, I wanted to see Blossom Culp and Flavia de Luce meet. Now I want to know what Blossom and the Crawley sisters from Downton Abbey would make of each other. You could throw in the Dowager Countess for good measure. Blossom and Alexander were in England in 1912, it could happen!

YES! (Also, you are now the only person I know who has read the Blossom Culp books.) It saddens me that we only ever got four Culp books.

IT COULD TOTALLY HAPPEN! The Crawleys first hear about Blossom's Titanic visions in their newspapers; later on, when Blossom and Alexander are in London during the Season, they encounter Sybil (if not all three Crawley sisters) at the wax museum!

I know of at least one or two other people online who've read these books but they should be far more well-known. I want to recommend them to all of the younger readers at my library but we own only The Dreadful Future of Blossom Culp, which I think is the weakest of the four.

Yeah, I think it is the weakest too. My favorite is Sleep of Death.

I think Sleep of Death is the one I read first; I have vague memories of picking it up at a library booksale years ago because it sounded interesting and later finding out that there were previous books. Ancient Egypt, time-travel, high school shenanigans, and a suffragette teacher--what's not to love?

I remember I originally followed you because we both like Elizabeth Peters (I think—it's been awhile) so I suspect we've had parallel reading trajectories on books relating to Egypt.

Sadly, I'm not that person. I think I found you via [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda. I haven't read any of the Amelia Peabody books yet but my mother has been recommending them to me for a while and they sound like fun. I do think Ancient Egypt is tons of fun to read about and I have some library programs related to it planned for summer reading this year.
