aka, my friends list is awesome
lotesseflower recently found out that the original manuscript of Peter Pan resides at her university's library and reports on some of the changes made before we read the story, especially the ending. Some are awesome, others are hilarious, many are both.

Last weekend, some friends and I went to the National Gallery of Art to look at the Gothic tapestries (http://www.nga.gov/press/exh/3344/index.shtm), and were discussing how those were made - both the physical crafting process, which if you know about weaving makes them a truly remarkable work from a simply technical standpoint, and the creative process in designing them. We concluded that production must have been a large-scale project on par in in scope, cost, and logistics with most modern corporate undertakings. Once you start digging into how things were done, you realize how much more there is than the finished product.
