Some of the best things are from coincidence: I love recs for canon that appeal to all my known interests, but discovering a completely unexpected love is one of the best things fandom does for me. :D

(Sorry, very late response... I finished Utena a few days ago. Much shrieking and flailing was had, and will continue. A lot of the symbolic landscape does seem scattered, what with all the anachronisms and fourth wall breaking and unexplainable, not-emotionally-significant stuff like Miki's stopwatch, but if Princess Tutu makes more traditional sense the level of wtfery will definitely be under my limit.)
