oh!

So I just found out that the fourth season of Merlin starts tomorrow (if you're in Britain it's today by this point, but anyway). I'm torn on this. By the end of the last season I was skipping several episodes and wanting to throw things at the characters/screen/scriptwriters. My current plan is to watch the first episode when I get the chance and that'll decide whether or not I can bother to invest any energy in this.

Spoilers for previous seasons past here.

Season 4 predictions:
--Morgana continues to smirk and wear awesome costumes (but please have armor better than the corset that looked like a soup can)
--Uther and/or Arthur will continue to remain unaware of Merlin’s magic
--Gwen will continue to be awesome and she and Arthur will actually continue to have a relationship

Season 4 wishes:
--Arthur to find out that Gwaine was a noble all along for the lulz
--Morgana to be intelligent and get shit done
--Morgause to not be dead
--more people to find out about Merlin's magic and the world doesn't end in the process
--Arthur to become king/Uther dies COME ON ALREADY
--continuity (YEAH, RIGHT!!! I know middle schoolers with better senses of continuity)
--scenes with both Gwen and Morgana

*sighs* I'm taking the same route (one last chance). I miss the fun show.

It's on immediately after Doctor Who here, so seeing as I'll be sitting in front of the television anyway my plan is to watch the first ten minutes or so and see if my bitey feelings towards Merlin have lessened since S3.

Although, tbh, if I get through ten entire minutes I'll be pleasantly surprised.

The third season started so promisingly--Morgana doing something, a villain who actually had half a brain (Cendred), Gwen and Arthur having a more-or-less real relationship...and then it went downhill.

if I get through ten entire minutes I'll be pleasantly surprised. Sadly, that thought comes up often for me, too.

At least there might be pretty-even-though-not-historically-accurate costumes? (But then again, nothing in Merlin has been accurate. To anything, really.) There, that's the best thing I can easily think of.
