crossing it off the list

This morning I was visited by door-to-door religious salesmen for the first time. In their defense, they were polite boys and left immediately after I said I wasn't interested. It was only a few hours later that I realized I should have asked if they simply didn't notice the "No Soliciting" sign on the main apartment door, or if they thought it didn't apply to them. (They're not alone: there's also a local Chinese restaurant that leaves menus at our doors every couple of months. I've been tempted to hang onto all of mine and mail them back.)

Has anybody had experiences with women doing this? In all the anecdotes I've heard about these incidents, no matter what domination, it seems to be a guy thing.

I've only had missionaries bother me a few times. The only time it was an issue was with a couple of Mormon guys in an access-restricted apartment building. I think they knew they shouldn't be there because they wouldn't answer how they got in. I told them they had 30 seconds to leave before I called the police; they were gone in 10.
