first impressions

I found out that Tanya Huff's Blood Price series was recently turned into a TV show! Huff is one of my favorite comedic fantasy writers, though this series is more drama-oriented. Less fantasy, more straight-up supernatural. Vampires and werewolves, oh my! I just finished watching the first episode. The books are better (duh), but the show isn't bad.
The Blood Price series is set in Toronto, Canada. I haven't been to Canada in about four or five years, and the last time I was in Toronto might have been when I was in 8th grade and my family went to see Phantom of the Opera. (Hook them while they're young!)
--The actress who plays Vicki is doing a good job so far, though I miss Book!Vicki's Giant Purse of Doom. I'm surprised that she spilled the beans about her eyes to Henry so quickly.
--So far I like Book!Henry more. He's definitely cuter in my head (TV!Henry is cute, but in a different way), and seems more mature in the books.
--TV!Mike is true to format so far. His and TV!Vicki's arguments aren't as explosive as they could be, but are ok.
--I was re-reading the first book recently and noticed that the scriptwriters took some lines directly from the novel. YAY!!!
--Oh, Norman. What can you say about Norman? His TV!demon doesn't scare me that much; it's much creepier in the book.
--I love the coroner. Vicki says, "Maybe it's a vampire," and the coroner goes, "Yeah! That would totally explain the weird stuff that's up with these corpses!"
Edit: I just started watching the second episode.
Henry does graphic novels? Noooooooooo!!! I want him to stay the writer of bodice-rippers!
