Once again, real life instead of fandom

I´m thinking about the traveling I want to do this semester, while I´m on mainland Europe. Unlike the other students, I don´t have urges to visit a different country every weekend. (I´m far too boring/laid-back.) It´s almost certain that I will be visiting Galway. I would also like to explore the northern area of Spain (as we don´t have any group trips in that region) and Wales. (I must restrain myself from reading TDiR.) This time, I´m asking for travel advice. For anyone who has been here, what specific cities/towns do you recommend going to, is train or bus better for going around Spain, and anything else you can think of. I´ll have a better idea of what I can do after I make the final payment for the group trip to Seville in March. (al-Andalusia! Yay!) I can´t stay here every weekend; much as I like Valencia, I´m not an all-out party girl, and I need to find other things to do.

All the sites I'd reccomend are a bit too far East to be practical. Also under military occupation. I could hook you up with a few people in London, though.
